Positive Reinforcement that Social Networking Works.

As of last night, my father started a blog. Upon release to the public of his blog, he immediately made an announcement on Facebook.com. I checked his blog this morning and in less than 12 hours of its existence, the blog has already had 24 visits.
I blog mainly for myself, and I don't really care to be read, but in the three or so months that I have been blogging, I only have had 19 visits. I have never once advertised my link to anyone, nor have I even told my wife. These 19 visits are just by random blog readers that have stumbled upon my blog. Not that I would consider this scientific proof but it does seem that with the right content and some social networking magic that anything can become popular. The blog itself is far over my head as I assume it will be for most people. It is a well written, christian based blog. Its primary focus is on the book of Revelation.
The reason that I bring all this up is because I work with a man that doesn't believe in social networking and does not understand the point of Facebook or "liking" things on it. Here is to show, it does work. I will be interested to see what he has to say tomorrow about the subject.
