Nest Leaf / Smart-Thermostat

With a smartphone on every hip, it is not with any surprise that now there is now a smart thermostat that can be installed in your house. Nest just released a product that I hope to be fortunate enough to install in my home shortly, a thermostat that learns. The thermostat meticulously records all activity within the first week of installation so that it can adjust as needed. The problem with a thermostat is that you must change the temperature and program accordingly. With this new, amazing technology--Nest Sense--the thermostat will program itself. This thermostat will use sensors and programmed settings, that you put in, to determine the times when you need temperature changes and even to determine when you are not home. This thermostat is also programmable from your smartphone or computer. With 50% of your utility bill dependent upon your thermostat, it will pay to invest in this energy saving technology. Without doubt, a large portion of energy is wasted keeping your home cool and warm while you are out of the house. Nest claims that "According to one study, 90% of programmable thermostats are rarely or never programmed. The EPA even took away their Energy Star rating. So we started looking for an alternative." How crazy!, that 90% of people don't understand the basics of a programmable thermostat. With a product as sophisticated as this, and so incredibly basic to use, I imagine that the reduction in your utility bill would pay off in a very short time.
