If you have read my blog before you may remember that about a month ago I started writing the company weekly newsletter for all of our guards. Since I have started writing weekly and blogging, I have noticed that my vocabulary has grown quite a bit. I have remembered words that I haven't used in years. Other than one of my co-workers, I have been surrounded by people with very limited vocabulary. Hearing the same one-hundred words every day will dumb you down.
When I proofread, whether it is the company newsletter, my blog or a paper for school, I am actually excited to find alternative words that I can use. I have not picked up a thesaurus is year. I am also noticing that my spelling is slowly improving. I have never been a very good speller, but I am improving.
