With Steve Jobs being deceased for less than six months, the computer apocalyptic decline has commenced. I know of no one other than Tim Cook to blame, so I will point the finger at him. Apple is due to release their new operating system shortly and it will be released as: OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Oh, silly me... I left out Mac* OS X 10.8. Wait, no Mac? Since when?
That is right, unlike all previous operating systems, the new OS X will no longer have Mac as part of its name. Since the inception of Apple Inc, there has ALWAYS been Mac. I do not see a reason as to why the attempt to rebrand is necessary and I think that Steve would roll over in his grave if he was aware of the name change. Needless to say, below is the image you can expect to see when you check your computer information for software version.
So here is to Mac and all that it was. It will die as the legend did. It is only a matter of time now before no one remembers what a Macintosh is. It will as if it was always Apple.
